Creative Corner Club is committed to providing a caring, friendly, and safe environment for all children so they can learn and play in a relaxed and secure atmosphere. Bullying of any kind is unacceptable at our club. If bullying does occur, all children and parents should be assured that incidents will be dealt with promptly and effectively. 

Bullying is deliberately hurtful behaviour, repeated over a period of time, where it is difficult for those being bullied to defend themselves. It can take many forms, including: 

• Physical: Hitting, kicking, theft. 

• Verbal: Name-calling, racist remarks, threats. 

• Emotional: Excluding individuals, spreading rumours. 

• Cyberbullying: Misuse of technology, such as sending hurtful messages via social media or   mobile phones. 

 • To ensure all children, parents, staff, and volunteers understand what bullying is.

 • To prevent bullying by promoting a positive and inclusive club culture. 

 • To provide clear procedures for dealing with incidents of bullying.

 • To support both the victim and the perpetrator in resolving conflict. 

 • Foster a culture of respect and kindness through daily activities and group discussions.

 • Encourage children to speak openly about concerns and assure them they will be listened to.

 • Supervise all activities to minimise opportunities for bullying behaviour.

 • Provide staff with training on recognising and responding to bullying. 

Children who are being bullied may: 

• Become withdrawn, anxious, or upset. 

• Show changes in behaviour or performance.

• Exhibit unexplained injuries or loss of personal belongings.

• Be reluctant to attend the club. 

1. Reporting: 

o Children should report bullying to a trusted adult (staff member). 

o Parents, carers, or staff should report suspected bullying to the Manager. 

2. Investigation: 

o All reports will be taken seriously and investigated promptly. 

o Staff will speak to all parties involved to gather information. 

3. Response: 

o If bullying is confirmed, appropriate actions will be taken:

 ▪ Support will be provided to the victim. 

 ▪ The perpetrator will be supported in understanding the impact of their actions and guided towards appropriate behaviour.

 ▪ A meeting may be arranged with the parents or carers of both parties. 

4. Monitoring: 

o The situation will be monitored to ensure the bullying does not continue. 

o Follow-up meetings may be arranged. 

• Staff: Responsible for implementing the Anti-Bullying Policy, supervising children, and addressing incidents promptly.

• Parents/Carers: Encouraged to inform the club of any concerns and to work in partnership with staff. 

• Children: Encouraged to treat others with respect and to report any incidents of bullying. 

All information regarding bullying incidents will be handled with sensitivity and confidentiality, shared only with those involved in resolving the issue. 

 Creative Corner Club will review this policy annually and update it as necessary to ensure its effectiveness.
